Why joint limits matterKinematics: DH parameters
DH and inverse kinematics explainedStandard Denavit–Hartenberg parameters as published by Universal Robots. θ is the joint variable, so no fixed θ offset is listed. Universal Robots notes that its “a” corresponds to the “r” parameter in some DH references. [2]

- Universal Robots publishes this table as “UR10e/UR12e”.
- These are nominal design values. A specific arm's calibrated kinematics can differ; check your controller's calibration data before relying on nominal values for absolute positioning.
Where it sits in the range
Universal Robots describes UR12e as the next evolution of its UR10e cobot, with increased payload and enhanced performance. Its September 2026 datasheet lists 12.5 kg and a 1,300 mm reach on a Ø190 mm footprint, and it shares UR10e's DH table.
The current UR10e datasheet now lists the same 12.5 kg and 1,300 mm, with a 0.2 kg lighter arm (33.3 kg against 33.5 kg, both including cable). Universal Robots positions UR12e as the current model, so check availability and support terms for UR10e with a distributor before choosing it.
What the datasheet cannot answer
The datasheet does not establish cycle time, reliability or the safe speed of a finished cell. RoboMag has not physically tested UR12e.
Maintenance resources
Robot GarageUniversal Robots' e-Series service handbook covers UR12e alongside the other e-Series arms: inspection, part replacement, software, troubleshooting and spare parts. RoboMag summarises the published inspection intervals below; it does not reproduce service procedures. Isolate the robot safely and follow the manufacturer's handbook for any work.
| Interval | Published inspection items |
|---|---|
| Monthly | Robot arm mounting bolts * (F); tool mounting bolts * (F) |
| Every six months | Blue lids * (V); blue lid screws (F); flat rings (V); robot cable (V); robot cable connection (V); screws and bolts on joints * (F) |
